Interim Deputy Director and Development Director

Formerly Program Director at CLGS, Bernie now serves as Interim Deputy Director and Development Director for the Center. In addition, he teaches in the Certificate in Sexuality and Religion Program (CSR) at Pacific School of Religion, serves as an editorial consultant for the CLGS/Pilgrim Press Book series, and directs the Center's national OutFront workshop program.

"What excites me most about the work of the Center is the ground-breaking nature of its mission and its unique opportunity to foster open and productive dialogue among faith communities with regard to LGBT people and issues," Schlager says. "I look forward to remaining involved with the Center as it brings its innovative (and much-needed) programming to locations around the country."
