The seeQers Project
CLGS is committed to reaching a wider audience than either its on-campus or regional seminars have been able to serve to date. This audience would include those who are eager for education in sexuality and religion, but who are not interested in pursuing course work with graduate-level academic credit. Taking advantage of Internet technology and developing a visually compelling and interactive platform for the Center’s work would also reach a younger generation eager for this kind of education, which is a growing but mostly untapped constituency.
The CLGS “seeQers” project at the convergence of sexuality, spirituality, and scholarship, offers an online, web-based venue for education and training as well as opportunities for coalition and community building. The flexibility and interactivity of online learning modules will make this project even more compelling to congregations and to individuals within those congregations. It will also extend the reach of the community-building aspects of the Center’s work to geographically diverse areas where insights can emerge not only from the educational materials but also from other participants, both online and in person.
The seeQers project will provide an excellent platform for many of the materials and learning modules of the Living OutFront Curriculum Project currently in development for a variety of congregations.
The seeQers website is currently available in its beta version here. Please let us hear from you how we can improve this site!
