LGBT Religious Caucus Statements About Marriage

LGBT people have formed caucus groups within every major religious group and/or denomination in the USA, and nearly every one of these caucus groups has issued statements on same-sex marriage and civil unions. Below you can read some of these statements and obtain contact information for these groups.

Metropolitan Community Churches

DignityUSA (Roman Catholic LGBT Group)

"This resolution was passed unanimously by the Board of Directors, DignityUSA during their meeting in Las Vegas, August 5-6, 2003. The resolution was presented to all assembled at the membership meeting during the 16th DignityUSA biannual convention (Aug 7-10) and received an ovation by all."

Lutherans Concerned (North America)

This caucus group within the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America offers resources for LGBT-identified Christians and their families and friends, as well as a "reconciling in Christ" program for congregations. They advocate for "full participation in all rites, sacraments, and ministries of the church" for all people.
