Rev. Elizabeth Leung,
Coordinator, Asian and Pacific Islander Roundtable (Volunteer)

Rev. Elizabeth Leung joined CLGS as the Coordinator, Asian and Pacific Islander Roundtable (Volunteer) for the Center for Lesbian and Gay Studies in Religion and Ministry (CLGS) at the Pacific School of Religion (PSR) in the spring of 2007. She is the coordinator for the Network on Religion and Justice for Asian and Pacific Islander Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender People [NRJ-API-LGBT].

Elizabeth Leung earned her doctorate from the Graduate Theological Union in 2006. Her academic expertise is the study of Christian Spirituality. Her dissertation, Body, Self and Culture in the Study of Christian Spirituality, focuses on how embodiment in spiritual experience operates within the culture matrice of language and practices. She has ordained ministerial standing in the United Church of Christ and is a trained spiritual director.

Rev. Leung coordinates programs and events of the Network on Religion and Justice for Asian and Pacific Islander Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender People (NRJ-API-LGBT), facilitates community building among API-LGBT persons active in various faith traditions, convenes an API clergy caucus and supports strategies for education, outreach and social change. Her experiences and gifts provide valuable theological, programmatic and ministerial support in order to positively impact the lives of Asian and Pacific Islander LGBT people.
