Bylaws for the CLGS Advisory Boards

Bay Area Advisory Board

Purpose:
The Bay Area Advisory Board's purpose is to provide guidance and assistance to the leadership and staff of CLGS in three primary areas:

  1. Priority setting for the programmatic initiatives of CLGS.
  2. Long-term strategic planning.
  3. Outcome evaluation.

Membership:
The Board is composed of 12-15 members local to the Bay Area. The CLGS Executive Director and the Program Director are ex officio members of the Board. The Board members meet four times a year. Read bios of the current Board members.



National Advisory Board

Purpose:
The general expectations for National Advisory Board membership are the following:

  1. Advise the Executive Director and staff of the Center on important national religious trends in ecclesiastical, academic, and political institutions affecting the LGBT communities.
  2. Advise on national impact goals and strategies for the Center.
  3. Assess the impact of the Center's work as it develops on embodying its Mission Statement in the national arena and also in the particular institutions both religious and academic represented by members of the Board.
  4. Publicize the work of the Center in all the relevant institutions and contexts in which Board members participate.
  5. Identify and recruit funding sources, both individual and institutional, for the work of the Center, including committing some personal funds yearly to the support of the Center.

Membership:
The Board is composed of religious leaders, scholars, activists, friends, and allies from the Christian, Buddhist, and Jewish traditions. The National Advisory Board meets annually. Read bios of the current National Advisory Board members.
